A 62-year-old worker was injured after falling about 3 metres from a water tank while carrying out maintenance at a private residential estate on Hoi Fai Road, Tai Kok Tsui, at about 7pm on September 17.
The worker, surnamed Leung, suffered a head injury and was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. An initial report said he remained conscious after the fall.
A later police account said Leung had briefly lost consciousness and regained consciousness after receiving initial treatment. Police said their preliminary assessment was that he may have lost his footing while maintaining the tank.
The case was provisionally classified as a person injured in an accident, while police continued investigating the cause of the fall.
