Police issued 501 fixed-penalty notices and towed five vehicles during a one-day operation against illegal-parking black spots in Yau Tsim on 18 September. The five vehicles were towed because they were causing serious traffic obstruction.
The operation was carried out by police in Yau Tsim together with Traffic Kowloon West. It targeted areas identified as illegal-parking black spots.
Police figures show that about 113,500 fixed-penalty notices were issued in the police district covering Yau Tsim between January and August 2026. During the same period, 929 driver offences were recorded.
Police said the enforcement was intended to encourage drivers to improve behaviour that could contribute to traffic accidents. Police also said strict enforcement would continue and appealed to drivers to follow traffic rules rather than park illegally for temporary convenience.
