The Commissioner for Heritage's Office and Citybus are offering free open-top bus tours through Northern Metropolis heritage areas on three days this November. The routes link 12 statutory monuments and graded historic buildings. Online booking opens at 10am on 6 November.
The Yuen Long-area route runs on 21 November, followed by a route featuring walled-village heritage on 22 November and a historic-homes route on 29 November. The first starts at Yuen Long Station; the other two leave from Sheung Shui Station. Journeys take about 40 to 60 minutes, with 15 departures available for each route.
Passengers can get off at designated stops to visit historic buildings. Audio commentary is available in Cantonese, Putonghua and English.
Apply online by 5pm on 10 November. Each person may apply once for each route, for up to two people per application. Places are allocated first come, first served, and successful applicants receive immediate confirmation.
