Halloween celebrations drew crowds across Hong Kong on 31 October, from Central’s Lan Kwai Fong nightlife district to shopping centres and neighbourhoods elsewhere.
At around 7.30pm, police said Lan Kwai Fong was very crowded and advised people to consider celebrating in other areas. Queues to enter reportedly stretched to Connaught Road Central, with some people waiting two hours to get in.
In Tseung Kwan O, PopCorn held a Halloween music event and pop-up dance performances with a DJ. The LOHAS also drew children and families, with many children dressed up for the occasion.
In Tai Po, residents gathered in an open area outside a shopping centre. One local social-media user described it as spontaneous, saying people had come together without a special event.
