A 63-year-old man pleaded guilty in the District Court on 29 October 2026 to indecently assaulting his 13-year-old niece by marriage. The offence took place on 25 August 2025 at a home in Tsuen Wan.
The prosecution case was that the girl had gone to stay overnight at the man’s home. After other family members went to bed, he kissed her and touched her breasts and inner thigh. The contact lasted about 10 minutes.
The girl later recorded what had happened in a diary. Her mother noticed that she was unhappy and wanted to cry, read the diary and discovered the incident.
The man was arrested at home the following day and denied the offence in a recorded interview, saying he had only chatted and played with the girl. He later pleaded guilty.
The court adjourned sentencing to 25 November 2026 to obtain psychological and background reports on the defendant. He was remanded in custody.
