Searchers found the missing 80-year-old dead in Tai Po on November 2. His relatives confirmed the news online.
He left his Tin Shui Wai home on the morning of October 25 and was believed to have gone hiking. His family reported him missing on October 27, when searches began around Wu Kau Tang.
His phone’s last signal was detected in the Wu Kau Tang area. Civilian search groups also joined the effort, with some members bringing search dogs.
The cause of death was under investigation. His relatives thanked rescue personnel and hikers who helped with the search.
