A burst saltwater main flooded nearby roads in Sheung Wan on the evening of 29 October, prompting an overnight suspension of saltwater supply.
Police received a report of a burst pipe on Burd Street at 8.34pm. The water authority confirmed it was a saltwater main and suspended nearby saltwater supply at 10.10pm for repairs. Floodwater reached the area around Cleverly Street and Bonham Strand.
The authority’s listed affected area included odd-numbered addresses 89–119 on Wing Lok Street and 65–95 on Bonham Strand. It expected saltwater supply to be restored at 4.10am on 30 October.
