Harcourt Limited, its 70-year-old director and a 43-year-old woman have pleaded not guilty to six charges under Hong Kong’s Human Reproductive Technology Ordinance. The company’s director represented it in court.

The charges include two counts of publishing or distributing advertisements about surrogacy arrangements. The director also faces an alternative advertising count and three counts of accepting payment for taking part in discussions aimed at making surrogacy arrangements.

One charge alleges that the woman and Harcourt Limited accepted HK$10,000 on 25 April 2025 for such discussions at the first floor of Pier 2 in Central.

At a pretrial review on 2 November, the case was adjourned for a hearing on a jurisdictional dispute. The parties were due to agree points of law by 20 November; prosecution submissions were scheduled for 18 December, a defence response by 29 January 2027 and a prosecution reply by 1 March. The dispute is scheduled to be heard on 6 April 2027.
