The Travel Industry Authority took eight enforcement actions against forced shopping after the Tourism Industry Ordinance came fully into effect in 2022.
The actions included revoking licences held by three travel agencies and four tourist guides. Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law said the industry had improved under stronger regulation.
The authorities expect to launch a tourism-industry talent development programme in the first half of 2027, offering 300 internship places each year.
