Uber said on 29 October it had filed the forms and documents required under the Transport Department’s invitation as part of its application for a ride-hailing service platform licence.
The government was accepting applications, with the first licences expected to be issued in late November, HK01 reported.
Uber said it had expanded its dedicated driver-support team and was providing training and written-test preparation to help drivers move to the new regulatory framework.
