Hong Kong’s talent schemes had received about 690,000 applications by September, while 320,000 talents had arrived in the city, the Chief Secretary for Administration said. He gave the figures at a Greater Bay Area talent conference in Dongguan on October 25.

The Chief Secretary said Hong Kong Talent Engage held an opportunity exhibition in London the previous week, working with more than 50 Hong Kong and mainland businesses and institutions to recruit overseas talent.

In September, Hong Kong Talent Engage arranged a visit for global innovation and entrepreneurship talent, including winners of a German innovation marathon, to Hong Kong, Shenzhen’s Qianhai and Guangzhou’s Nansha. The visitors learned about opportunities and innovation development in the Greater Bay Area.

The office also provides support to talent moving to Hong Kong and their families to help them settle in the city.
